“Voices are in the open-air, all together”
For nearly seven years, with performances in Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre of Kardeş Türküler Project – a project of Bosphorus Performing Arts Ensemble (BGST)- we have been trying to emphasize the desire of people to live together in peace, by performing songs and dances of different cultures in this geography all together.

THE INITIATIVE FOR SURVIVAL OF HASANKEYF
As it is known, the İlisu Dam Project is still being debated by related official institiutions and associations in Sweden, Germany and Austria. And foreign corporations composing İlisu Consortium haven’t got the approval of their national governments and Export Credit Agents for providing the necessary funding yet.

I wonder if the piece mentioned above (as can be heard on the CD Vizontele) is a tradicional song or composed by somebody from the band? Thanks in advance, Janni

Long live Kardes Turkuler
Dear Kardes Turkuler, I\\\'m from Brussels (Belgium) and I\\\'ve been following you for 4 years. Just wanted to express some feelings. I sincerely believe that today there is no other band such as Kardes Turkuler in the European or Asian soils (or in any other part of the world to my very humble view). You\\\'re music is not only great musically, it is also about building bridges between communities. At a time were conflicts are increasing between cultures in the world, your music brings hope and faith in humanity. I definitely and sincerely consider that you should be \\\"subsidised\\\" as \\\"service of human interest\\\" :). May each region of the world have one band like you and i\\\'m sure the world will feel better. Thank you for giving us dreams and hopes. I hope to see you soon in Brussels. Love always.

A Kardeş Türküler fan in Canada
Two years ago, while I was teaching English in Istanbul, I wandered into a music shop in Galata looking for a Turkish instrument to experiment with. I ended up buying a saz, and as I was leaving, the instrument maker insisted I take a CD as well. That CD, which included Kardeş Türküler, Doğu, and the soundtrack to Viziontele, was my first recording of Turkish music (and by the way, I DID go on to buy most of your albums legitimately as well!). You really sparked my interest in the diversity and richness of Anatolian music. I'm now starting a Masters degree in Ethnomusicology at the University of Toronto, and am hoping to learn more!

Thank you
Hello :) I\'ve bought Dogu in Istanbul in 2001. It\'s prettty funy story. I went to a music shop and asked for some good turkish traditional music, but the guy was giving me Tarkan all the time :D I was trying to explain what I want so I said that it has to be slower (I ment rythm). I\'ve spent there almost an hour when I found out that there is music style called \"slow\" :] Any way... since than I can listen to this album, even after so long time, and love it! I do not understand lyrics at all. I can realy only on my feelings. Last year I decided that I have to comper it with reality. I went to Turkey for 3 weeks and I was looking for that feeling. I found only a small part of it, but that part allowed me to understand some of it. I love the east part of Turkey (Kürdistan). I hope you will come one day to Poland. I\'d love to go to your concert!

A new fan in San Francisco
We recently came back from Istanbul where a local introduced us to your music. We now love it as much as he does. I echo the comments from other non-Turkish speakers ? it doesn't matter that we cannot understand the words, the whole effect is stunningly beautiful ! Thank you for bringing this music into our world. PS Zellerbach Hall at the University of California in Berkeley or Yerba Buena performing center in San Francisco would be a fantastic venue for one of your concerts. Please try to come here!
